I had the chance to catch up with one of my favorite people anywhere, Mark Lefebvre. Former King of Kobo Writing Life now with the Draft2Digital publishing platform, beer aficionado, ghost chaser, horror novelist, and all around great person (oh, and he’s Canadian which means that he’s ridiculously polite–he even puts up with me).
Anyway, we just had a great talk on his Stark Reflections Podcast about authorship, goals, writing mottos, estate planning, and so much more. Yep, it’s mostly publishing side stuff, but with Mark it’s always fun!
Where have the insights about weaving and knitting come from? I love the description of Ama’s weaving studio in the Henderson Ranch series.
Also wondering if Mark and Michael find retirement difficult.
One further thought, have wondered if the Henderson ranch has had difficulties with drug smugglers as well as the Delta Force retirees with the winery in the Willamette Valley in Oregon?
Mark’s efforts at retirement were in one of the Henderson Ranch stories (and at the moment I’m hard pressed to recall which one. Hmmm… Ah! Nathan’s Big Sky. Emily faced her own challenges in Emily’s Christmas Gift. And Michael would have been in last month’s Ides of Matt story Between Shadow and Soul.
The knitting comes from my wife. I’ve attempted to learn but, sadly, I’m hopeless at it. Quilting is more my speed.
The Delta Force folks haven’t retired to the Oregon winery yet. They’re still out on mission assignments for now.
The weaving…Ama brought that all on her own. 🙂
