  1. Matt…Thank you, so much, for writing a story that pays respect to our K-9 Warriors. And for the sensitivity that you gave to what war and traumatic injury does to the human, through no fault of their own. That is why I love how, with the Henderson’s wisdom, Stan was able to find a purpose in his life again. His story reminds me of the real life story of former Delta Force soldier, Josh Collins, who has found his purpose on a paddle boat. (See veteranvoyage360.org) Mike Ritland, of Trikos International, trains MWD’s. A former SEAL himself, his books are worth reading. Thank you, Matt, for another wonderful read.

    1. I’m so glad that you enjoyed the story. I am constantly daunted by the men, women, and dogs who serve and I’m so glad that I was able to capture even a small part of that. And thanks for the great reading tips, I will definitely check them out.
